The following is our policy for making decisions and communicating about school closings due to severe weather:
In general, whenever the Rochester Community School District must close due to severe weather, Oak Arbor School will also close. We will communicate this information in several ways.
1. You can obtain current information by going to TV 4's website at http://www.clickondetroit.com/weather/closings. (This link should take you directly to school closings.)
2. Or you can watch WDIV-TV 4.
3. The home page of www.oakarborschool.org will also be updated.
4. Or you may call the school office after 6:30 AM at 248-652-3420 x 100 and listen to the outgoing message.
If the decision of the Rochester District does not apply to Oak Arbor, or if Oak Arbor School needs to close for an emergency unrelated to a decision of the Rochester Community Schools (for example, a site-specific reason), the principal or his designate will initiate a calling system to notify all parents by phone or email.
In addition to the school calendar on our website, you can also go to the online calendar for church-related events as well as for community-oriented activities in which our church and school are involved. Go to the Oak Arbor Church Home page and click on Calendar.
The Nutshell News is the name of our weekly school email communication, circulated most Thursday afternoons. To subscribe, contact our secretary.
